Forest walks & local cuisine meals

Our exploration begins at 10:30 am at Château de Mirwart. We walk 1 kilometre to the breeding ponds (pisciculture). Along the way, we see the old water mill and caretaker's house, the confluence of Marsoult and l'Homme, and the historic railway bridge. Our first stop is at the fish farm pavilion, where we learn more about fish care and conservation.

In the second part of our exploration, we continue our journey from the pavilion to Biolin, a 4-kilometre trail that takes us past enchanting landscapes. We are led along the picturesque banks of the Marsoult River, and the centuries-old trout breeding ponds. Our path leads us further to the magnificent bridge, over the Massoult, built by Aime-Gabriel d'Artiques, a true eye-catcher that testifies to craftsmanship and history.

As we continue our way, we pass the historic blast furnaces of 'Fourneau de Marsoult' in Mirwart, where the echoes of industrial past can still be felt.

During the lunch break, at the Biolin pavilion, we invite you to enjoy a delicious barbecue composed of local produce and tasty meats from the region, a culinary treat.

In the third part of our tour, from Biolin to the Ponds St-Roch over 6 kilometres, we follow the river Lhomme . Along the way, we admire the rock known as the rotse of the witch Marie Gobaille. Arriving at the ponds of St-Roch, we enjoy local patisserie as a snack.

In the last part of our exploration, over a distance of just 2 kilometres. We pass the , a charming bridge "Pont de Madame", named after Marguerite de la Marck, which takes us to our destination.

Upon arrival, we discover the Cuve du Château, an intriguing find in the medieval cellar of the castle, where history meets time. Here we can immerse ourselves in the region's rich heritage and the stories hidden in every stone and vault.

Discover the rich flavours and history on our culinary walk around Mirwart Castle! For only 75 euros per person, including a delicious lunch and a tasty foursome (excluding drinks).
